#357: the night is warm...

and im getting irritated. cldnt get to sleep, since ive slept the whole afternoon away earlier.

preparations - almost done. doh, im leaving in 2 days time! cept for packing and the fotos. (oh! i did my ironing for the 1st time! be proud!)

thanks to benny's huge-ass suitcase (and benny for sending it in the middle of the night!), what was squeezed into my pathetic suitcase and my 35-litre deuter bag, only fills up 3/4 of the space in the suitcase! and yes, the weight is gg to hit the baggage limit, but well, i still have my handcarry weight to exploit - so we'll see whether i can squeeze in my router since we are thinking of getting wireless internet over there. hehs.

everyone - please feel free to come bj to visit me! ill put you up! but i guess everyone wld rather shanghai, hk or anywhere exciting, but not bj. blearghs.

as much as i dont really look forward to leaving, im sore that ill be missing out on the local music festival, where local bands would be performing outdoor gigs. even though i dont think i wld know most of the bands, i think i could possibly appreciate the music - since i suppose there are many other genres, including techno, and music, after all, is a form of international language. and the best deal is that this concert is cheap, since it is specially catered to the locals, unlike other music festivals, as proclaimed by that's bj

i was a bit dispirited earlier. i was hoping that the whole thing just get called off, and i need not have to leave after all. many questions popping in my head and uncertainty - something i hope to embrace but yet just cant deal with. oh well, im a worrywart. anyway as much as i love travelling, i thought abt whether i can work in an environment with a total different culture - esp language - think lost in translation. suddenly the whole idea of working in japan becomes v appealing and i started fantasizing about myself working there in the future. and speaking of working in japan - zero has decided to drop the swiss company - didnt like the corporate culture, and now he's keeping his fingers crossed for going japan.

how about working in places with v bold ideas - think germany or india. even though sometimes i think the germans can get pretty crude in their works. anyhow, it'll be an interesting challenge.

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? im watching the live telecast of the match between chelsea and liverpool.

#355: im a blogging addict.

versatility or multiple personality, whatever it is, i just enjoy blogging and leaving plenty of tags.

of late, havent been a fan of camwhoring or even photoshop-ing and making collages. plain laziness, i think.

some fotos i stole from biker chick's blog! the fotos in my cam are all pretty horrible, so nope, not uploading them!

"why issit always only 5?" - Rina - sharp observation.

for those who are curious about my place, here's what i stolen from my roomie!

we got the place for a steal, even though the price is rather steep (and yes, higher than what im being paid for.) wz thinks im putting too much hope on the grant; since so many of us are gg this time round and he thinks there's this much they can provide for. oh wells, a lil bit of hope doesnt kill. call it cognitive dissonance or whatsoever, i think that's the best i can get or rather cheapest (in the sense of value-for-money). the only way i can cut cost is to share with more ppl, but well, most of the people i know have already gotten their places. and as for the trio, they replied me so late, that i'd already made up my mind to bunk in with joy. honestly i do feel really bad that im spending my parents' money to get what i want - yes, this is not a need. and the choices ive made, ive not stepped out of my comfort zone. i guess, the problem lies with "the expatriate syndrome". ha, a term i coined. when one works overseas, we value the locality of the apartment so much that we forgot our travelling time back home was longer and looking for privacy. take me for example, staying in this place beyond civilisation, im no stranger to long travelling journeys. but well, with this chinese internship, i have conditioned myself to think that even half an hour journey is too long.

as i was looking for a room, i realised i didnt like the idea of sharing bedroom with another person, someone that i dont know very well. perhaps ive too much of korean drama - everyone seems to be comfy with sleeping side-by-side on their mat and here i am, cringing at the idea of sharing a king-sized bed with someone. see, so much for stepping out of comfort zone.

on another note, zero had gone for an interview. he's not exactly confident of clinching it, since there are many other applicants and his expected salary is rather high. but if he gets it, he'll be gg to germany or switzerland during fall for training! as much as im jealous, i hope he gets it though.

show some love.
